Confluence Center rushing to finish solar project before federal incentives end

November 29, 2025

The Confluence Center of Colorado is rushing to finish the second phase of its solar installation before federal incentives expire on Dec. 31.

In order to complete the solar project, the organization is asking for donations from community members. It is hoping to raise the $90,000 it needs through a rapid fundraising campaign it launched last week, according to a press release.

The Confluence Center is home to EUREKA! McConnell Science Museum, RiversEdge West, One Riverfront and Colorado National Monument Association. It is touting the solar project as an immediate benefit to the community and as fitting within the center’s vision to be a hub for education, collaboration and community engagement.

The installation is projected to offset 70% to 90% of the center’s total electricity use and would allow it to capture significant savings and maximize environmental benefits, according to the release. The solar generation would reduce operating costs by around $8,000 a month.

In addition to the financial savings, the center says the solar array would fit within its sustainability vision, reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and modeling environmental stewardship. It would also utilize the solar array as a teaching tool for students, visitors and families visiting the Confluence Center for educational programming.
