In a decisive anti‑narcotics operation, Lefunga police issued stern warnings to cannabis cultivators after destroying nearly 4,000 mature plants grown illegally on government land.

Acting on a tip‑off, Officer‑in‑Charge Sahadeb Das led a large police team into the Dighalia area on Saturday morning, where cannabis was being cultivated inside a rubber plantation on forest land. The raid resulted in the complete destruction of the illicit crop.

Speaking after the operation, OC Das made it clear that cannabis cultivation will not be tolerated within his jurisdiction. “If we receive information about such activities, we will cut down and destroy every plant,” he warned.

Police confirmed that this action is part of an ongoing series of anti‑cannabis drives in Lefunga, with further operations planned to ensure the area remains free from illegal cultivation.
