The call for the Santa Fe environmental fund is now open: $14 million offered for natural

The environmental fund of Santa Fe has opened its seventh call to finance conservation projects of the provincial natural heritage.

The initiative is promoted by the National University of the Littoral (UNL), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of the province, Fundación Hábitat y Desarrollo, the Chamber of Deputies and Sancor Seguros.

A total of $14,040,000 will be allocated for environmental conservation.

The call is aimed at public institutions, NGOs related to conservation, universities, tertiary, secondary, and primary institutes.

Governmental departments of municipalities and communes related to environmental issues can also participate.

All projects must have institutional endorsement to be considered.

A minimum of two projects will be selected, among which the total amount of the fund will be distributed.

“The Fund seeks to promote nature conservation in the province of Santa Fe, improving the management of protected natural areas, protected species, and valuable natural sites,” states the official call.

The seventh edition prioritizes identifying and supporting projects that promote conservation at various levels within the provincial territory.

The budget for each project cannot exceed 60% of the total fund.

Pablo Tabares visited the radio program “El quinto elemento” on LT10 to explain that the conservation of natural ecosystems involves addressing the issue from various aspects.

The physical and biological environment must interact with the economic-social and political framework.

Projects must have a maximum duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension for an additional six months.

Selected directors will present a progress report at six months and a final report upon completion.

The deadline to submit initiatives is March 31, 2026. Projects must be sent by email to [email protected] and [email protected].

Additionally, they must be submitted via Entry Desk of the UNL to the email [email protected], requesting to initiate a file and be forwarded to the Secretariat of Science, Art, and Technology.

The evaluation will be conducted by a jury composed of representatives from the UNL, Fundación Hábitat y Desarrollo, the Ministry of Environment, the Chamber of Deputies, and Sancor Seguros.

Priority will be given to projects that offer a counterpart.

The National University of the Littoral will be responsible for administering the allocated funds.

Winning project directors will have 30 days from the start to begin the execution of the funds.
