Several law enforcement agencies have seized thousands of suspected illegal cannabis plants across Nevada County. 

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) executed four search warrants in Grass Valley and Nevada City in April and May where officers say they found illegal cannabis operations.

In total, the sheriff’s office says the team eradicated 14,619 plants, 94 pounds of processed cannabis including concentrated cannabis, and 1.3 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms. The team say they also seized two guns. 

Two people were arrested and booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on numerous drug-related charges.
