Zelestra and Meta have signed a long-term power purchase agreement for the 180MWdc Palmera solar project in Texas.

The agreement expands the companies’ US partnership to eight PPAs covering around 1.4GWdc of solar capacity, Zelestra said.

All eight projects are expected to be operational by 2028, the company added.

Zelestra has also started construction of the 176MWdc Skull Creek project in Texas and the 200MWdc Reclamation project in Indiana.

The two projects are expected to support 400 jobs at peak construction.

The 81MWdc Jasper County Solar Project in Indiana has already entered commercial operation as the first project delivered under the partnership.

“Meta is committed to bringing new renewable energy to the grid, and our expanding relationship with Zelestra is helping make that possible at scale,” said Amanda Yang, head of clean and renewable energy at Meta.

“These projects aren’t just advancing our energy goals – they’re creating jobs and delivering long-term value in the communities where they operate and it shows what strong partnerships can achieve.”

“Our partnership with Meta continues to translate ambition into delivery,” said Phil North, US chief executive of Zelestra.

“Together, we are accelerating the delivery of new energy infrastructure that supports Meta’s decarbonization goals while delivering long-term economic value in local communities.”

McCarthy Building Companies has been appointed EPC contractor for Skull Creek, while Qcells USA will supply modules and provide EPC services for the Reclamation project.
