Developers of sprawling solar farms and wind parks have new marching orders when it comes to locating their projects across Michigan.

After months of development and input, state regulators have finalized procedures to implement a new state law passed in 2023 that plucks the final authority to approve or deny those projects away from townships and local governments in some cases, passing it instead to the state.
