Changes have been made to a major solar farm proposal in Lincolnshire.

Fosse Green Energy Limited (FGEL) has launched a second consultation on plans for a solar and energy storage farm in North Kesteven.

The facility will generate, export and import electricity and the company said the changes, which include creating paths linking to public rights of ways, have been made following feedback from residents on the initial plans.

The consultation will finish on 2 December and there will be live and virtual events asking for feedback to help finalise the project’s design.

FGEL is a partnership between Windel Energy and Recurrent Energy.

It is the second chance residents have had to put forward their views, after an initial consultation held in Autumn 2023.

FGEL originally proposed a preliminary study area and two grid connection corridor options.

However, after listening to feedback from the local community, the company says it is now consulting on updated plans.

New proposals also include planting community orchards, improving biodiversity, relocating solar cells to reduce potential impacts on wildlife and save the views and boundaries around River Farm and Church Farm.

A grid connection corridor to Navenby Substation has also been refined to minimise social and environmental impact.

James Whitney, business development manager at Recurrent Energy, said: “We are also looking at how we can benefit the local community in ways which work best for them and would like to know people’s thoughts on any community schemes or projects that we can engage with.”

The company has set up a community liaison group where residents will be invited to engage in the process.

The community can also provide feedback by emailing or calling the company and can keep up to date with project milestones via its website.
