Microsoft Corp. is getting more of its electrical power from a renewable energy site in Texas.

In recent days, Leeward Renewable Energy began operations of its 200-MW Morrow Lake Solar plant in Frio County, located southwest of San Antonio.

According to Renewables Now, the solar farm will supply electricity under a previously announced power purchase agreement (PPA) with Microsoft. Morrow Lake Solar is the first of two solar projects being developed under that PPA and LRE’s second project in Frio County, located near its 200-MW Horizon Solar project.
