300 MWp Tordesillas Solar Project by Recurrent to Boost Spain’s Renewable Energy Leadership

Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. announced the signing of a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a major U.S.-based technology company.The agreement secures renewable energy from the Tordesillas solar PV project in Valladolid, located in Spain’s Castilla y León region. With an installed capacity of 300 MWp, the project is scheduled to become operational by 2026. Once energized, Recurrent Energy intends to own and operate the facility, contributing to the transition to sustainable energy. The Tordesillas project will bolster Spain’s leadership in renewable energy and support the nation’s decarbonization goals. Expected to generate approximately 620 GWh annually, the project will provide enough clean energy to power 188,000 households while avoiding 161,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
