President Joe Biden visits New Orleans terror attack memorial on Bourbon Street
A LOT OF VISITORS, OBVIOUSLY, IN THIS AREA FOR THE GAME, AS WELL AS NEW YEAR’S EVE. SO IT’S BEEN VERY TOUCHING TO SEE THE LOVE AND SUPPORT. AND IT LOOKS LIKE ONE OF THE DOORS MIGHT BE OPENING SOON. I THINK WE’RE GOING TO BE SEEING DOCTOR JILL BIDEN IN JUST A SECOND STEP OUT OF THAT CAR. HERE WE GO. YOU CAN SEE THE FIRST LADY AS SHE’S WALKING AROUND HERE VERY, VERY TOUCHING AND A HEARTBREAKING THING I’M SURE TO SEE. WE ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR. SO I’M GOING TO SEE IF WE CAN KIND OF MANEUVER A LITTLE BIT. I KNOW IT’S A LITTLE BIT HARD AND WE’RE KIND OF CRAMMED IN HERE, BUT YOU CAN SEE PRESIDENT BIDEN SHOWING, YES, PRESIDENT BIDEN LAYING FLOWERS, SHOWING HIS SUPPORT FOR THOSE. I MEAN, THE AMOUNT OF SORROW OBVIOUSLY HERE, IT’S JUST IT’S HEARTBREAKING. IT’S HEARTBREAKING TO SEE. AND SO JUST A VERY TOUCHING THING AND I WILL SAY, SOME OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO I SPOKE WITH EARLIER SAID THAT THEY ARE SO THANKFUL FOR ALL THE SUPPORT THAT NOT ONLY THE COMMUNITY HAS GIVEN, BUT THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD, AND TO HAVE THE PRESIDENT HERE TO PAY HIS RESPECTS TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. AND YOU KNOW, WANT WANT MORE FROM THIS BECAUSE THIS HAS JUST BEEN DEVASTATING AND NO ONE EVER WANTS THIS TO HAPPEN. AND SO THEY’VE BEEN HERE TO LAY FLOWERS, AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE WALKING AROUND TAKING A MOMENT. I MEAN, THIS HAS BEEN A MOMENT WHERE JUST TO GIVE THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIFE AND YOU CAN SEE PRESIDENT BIDEN RIGHT THERE AT THE TOP OF THE CAR. HE’
President Joe Biden visits New Orleans terror attack memorial on Bourbon Street
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden paid their respects at the site of a growing memorial for the 14 lives lost in the New Year’s Day terror attack on Bourbon Street. President Biden and his wife landed in New Orleans around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Their first stop was the memorial where crosses, art, flowers, and candles lay where the 14 people were killed when a driver plowed through crowds on Bourbon Street. President Biden was seen praying over the memorial while the First Lady placed flowers. The Bidens will meet with the families of the victims as well as law enforcement who responded to the attack later this evening. They will also attend a prayer service scheduled at St. Louis Cathedral.
