A Look At The Gulfstream G650ER That Jeff Bezos Is Selling

January 8, 2025

In late November of last year, it was revealed that Jeff Bezos was attempting to sell one of his ultra-long-range business jets, a Gulfstream G650ER. Bezos is the famous founder of Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company. After founding the company in mid-1994, Bezos has grown the company to become one of the largest and most valuable companies in the world, as the company now offers services in the e-commerce industry, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming, and even artificial intelligence (AI). The work of Bezos has led to him becoming one of the wealthiest people in the entire world, as he has amassed a net worth nearing $250 billion.

A look at the private jet fleet of Jeff Bezos

Because of this, it is no wonder that Bezos owns and operates a small fleet of private jets. These aircraft are the ultimate luxury for travelers flying around the world. However, in recent months, Bezos has made several changes to his fleet of business jets.

Recent acquisition leads to a potential sale

Multiple sources reported in late November that Bezos planned to sell a Gulfstream G650ER, one of his largest aircraft. This ultra-long-range business jet was first built in 2015 and has a registration of N271DV. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) database, this aircraft had an owner listed as Poplar Glen LLC, a Seattle, Washington-based holding company owned by Bezos himself.

By late December, the aircraft had made its way to an aircraft sales website known as Controller. The nearly ten-year-old aircraft currently has a listed price of just under $39 million. For reference, most new Gulfstream G650ERs are sold for around $60 million to $65 million.

The sale of the Jeff Bezos-owned Gulfstream G650ER is no surprise as Bezos also recently took delivery of a Gulfstream G700. This aircraft, registered as N11AF, was delivered to Bezos in July. The aircraft was ferried from Savannah Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) to Charleston International Airport (CHS) on July 10 earlier this summer. After a brief stop, the aircraft continued from Charleston to Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF), where Bezos is based. Bezos officially took delivery on July 11.

The Gulfstream G700 is another ultra-long-range business jet that was certified in early 2024. This aircraft is one of the fastest in the industry and also has the longest range of any purpose-built business jet on the market. The G700 features a cabin that is about ten feet longer than the G650’s. However, the cabin cross-section kept the same measurements. Overall, this large interior cabin can fit up to 19 passengers, depending on the configuration. This powerful aircraft is one of the most luxurious private jets on the market. Overall, this aircraft has the following performance specifications:

Length

109 feet ten inches

Height

25 feet five inches

Wingspan

103 feet

Maximum takeoff weight (MTOW)

107,600 pounds

Maximum speed

Mach 0.935 (617 miles per hour)

Range

7,750 nautical miles (8,920 miles)

Service ceiling

51,000 feet

Beyond the large Gulfstream G700, Bezos owns a second Gulfstream G650ER. This aircraft is slightly newer than his 2015 G50ER, which is registered as N271DV. His newer G650ER is registered as N758PB and was first delivered to Bezos in 2019. This aircraft is utilized more frequently than Bezos’ other Gulfstream G650ER, although it is still used less than the powerful G700.

The final private jet in the Bezos fleet is a light business jet. This small aircraft is a Pilatus PC-24 registered as N194PJ, first built in 2020. However, Bezos and his team did not take ownership of the aircraft until August 2021.
