THE SALVATION ARMY OF GREENSBORO. THE ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCED IT WAS GIFTED $5 MILLION FROM THE BEZOS DAY ONE FAMILIES FUND. THE DONATION IS PART OF A MORE THAN $110 MILLION EFFORT BY THE CHARITY, WHICH WAS CREATED BY AMAZON FOUNDER JEFF BEZOS. ITS GOAL IS TO MOVE THE NEEDLE ON HOMELESSNESS AND MAKE SURE NO CHILDREN ARE SLEEPING OUTSIDE. 2024 is ending in a big way for the Salvation Army of Greensboro.The organization announced it was gifted $5 million from the Bezos Day One Families Fund. The donation is part of an effort that totaled more than $10 million by the charity, which Amazon founder Jeff Bezos created.Its goal is to move the needle on homelessness and make sure no children are sleeping outside.In a statement announcing the donation, the Salvation Army of Greensboro said it plans to use this money to expand its Pathway to Success Program. It houses families experiencing homelessness in the Triad, with a larger goal of getting them to self-sufficiency through supportive services.In 2023, the Salvation Army of Greensboro helped more than 50,000 people with its program and services.
