Team FJ and European Energy have signed an agreement to pursue more sustainable motorsports by integrating renewable energy solutions into the future of the NASCAR Euro Series.

The agreement will focus on introducing renewable methanol to power the car used in the NASCAR’s official European championship. In addition, the partnership will explore how renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power as well as green hydrogen can be used to further decarbonize the NASCAR Europe facilities, operations and value chain.

“This partnership with the NASCAR Euro Series is a thrilling opportunity to showcase how green fuels can power even the most energy-intensive sports while keeping the essence of it. We are excited to bring our first mover experience with renewable methanol to the forefront of motorsports, making a positive impact on both the environment and the racing community,” says Jaime Casasus-Bribian, PtX Project development Director for European Energy and Ammongas CEO.

The collaboration is part of NASCAR Europe’s broader sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of motorsports and set new standards for green racing. By leveraging European Energy’s expertise in renewable energy and green fuel production, the NASCAR Euro Series is committed to creating a more sustainable future for the sport, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change. NASCAR Euro Series’ pilot William Ayer was pivotal in fostering the initial dialogue between both organizations.

NASCAR Europe is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in motorsports. Partnering with European Energy allows us to take significant strides toward a sustainable future for racing. This collaboration not only aligns with our long-term sustainability goals but also demonstrates our dedication to reducing our environmental impact while continuing to deliver the high-octane excitement that fans expect,” says Jerome Galpin, President CEO of Team FJ, founder and organizer of the NASCAR Euro Series.“We look forward to testing new solutions on track and to bringing them to our events very soon”.
