Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel hit theaters last month and is now available on digital platforms starting Tuesday, Dec. 24. Here’s everything you need to know about streaming the blockbuster film at home just in time for the holidays.

Set 15 years after the original 2000 film, the sequel features an all-star cast including Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi and more. Gladiator II “continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome.”

“Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist,” the official synopsis reads. “With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.”

Gladiator II has outperformed the original at the domestic box office and recently crossed the $400 million mark globally, according to Box Office Mojo. The sequel has been well-received by both critics and audiences, boasting a 72% critics score and an 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Although Gladiator II is making its streaming debut relatively quickly, you can still catch it in theaters. The film will remain in cinemas even after its digital release on Dec. 24. Read on to learn how to watch the sequel at home.

How To Watch Gladiator II At Home

Gladiator II is currently available to stream on video-on-demand platforms, including Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Fandango At Home. You can purchase Gladiator II for $24.99 or rent it for $19.99. For rentals, you have 30 days to start watching the video and 48 hours to finish once started.

The physical media release of Gladiator II will drop on DVD and 4K Ultra HD Steelbook on March 4, 2025.

When Will Gladiator II Be Streaming On Paramount?

Gladiator II will eventually be available to stream on Paramount Plus, though the release date hasn’t been announced yet. The sequel is expected to hit the streaming platform about two to three months after its theatrical debut, likely in January or February 2025.

For comparison, Mean Girls premiered in theaters on January 12 and became available on Paramount+ less than two months later, on March 5. A Quiet Place: Day One also arrived on the streaming service about two months after its theatrical debut.

To watch Gladiator II when it lands on Paramount+, viewers must sign up for the streaming platform. The Paramount+ Essential plan is $5.99 per month (with limited ads), while the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan is $11.99 per month. Both plans are currently offering a one-week free trial.
