LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird and Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Director Liz Elliott are set to announce plans for a new renewable energy facility at a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Lincoln currently operates one renewable energy facility located west of 27th and Teresa streets along Salt Creek. In early 2021, the city completed a project at that site to convert wastewater into renewable natural gas.
