New Orleans clergy hold Interfaith Prayer Service for those affected by terrorist attack
An Interfaith Prayer Service is scheduled in New Orleans to help the community grieve after 14 victims were killed and 35 others were injured in a terror attack last week. The service will be held at 6 p.m. at St. Louis Cathedral. Archbishop Gregory Aymond along with clergy and members of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and other faiths will lead the congregation in prayer to pray for those that lost their lives and those that were injured in the New Year’s Day attack and to pray for peace and hope in our city. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are expected to be in attendance. The service will have increased security. The public will be allowed to enter the Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Chartres and St. Ann streets. Those attending are asked to limit the amount of personal items they bring, including bag sizes. Once attendees enter the cathedral, they will be asked to remain seated and limit movement until it concludes. It is anticipated that the service will be an hour. The service will be livestreamed at thedailymass.com. WDSU will carry the service on-air and online. You can watch the service in the video player above starting at 6 p.m.
