Pay $200M on this island and live next to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos
December 27, 2024
A rare and exclusive piece of real state has come up on the market for $200 million (around Rs 1,660 crore), offering buyers the opportunity to become neighbours with Amazon founderJeff Bezos. Situated on the ultra-private creek island, off the coast of Miami, the small, undeveloped plot of waterfront land — just 1.84 acres — is on the market for a staggering $200 million, reported New York Post.Called the “Billionaire Bunker,” the island houses properties belonging to Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, Tom Brady, Carl Icahn, and recent arrival Jeff Bezos. A mystery seller is asking $200 million for an empty waterfront lot next door to the properties Jeff Bezos bought in South Florida, reported Bloomberg.

Whoever buys the parcel, at 9 Indian Creek Island Road, can build their dream house next door to the Amazon billionaire. Bezos has currently paid $237 million for three properties on the island at 11, 12 and 28 Indian Creek Island Road. The island is home to just 41 residences, all set within the exclusive grounds of the Indian Creek Country Club, complete with an 18-hole golf course.
The prime plot of land offers 200 feet of frontage along Biscayne Bay, with breathtaking views of downtown Miami. According to Ilya Reznik, the listing broker from the Reznik Group, the property provides ample space for the construction of a deep-water dock, with enough room to accommodate a 180-foot megayacht.

Reznik declined to identify the seller but said they are “willing to negotiate” on price. “I’ve already had a couple of showings and obviously the buyer is going to be a billionaire,” Reznik told Bloomberg.
“I think $200 million is a big number but I’m confident that in the end the buyer will pay a little extra because Bezos is a neighbor,” Reznik said. “Those prices just didn’t exist before he came to Indian Creek.”
Tight security available
There is so much wealth on the island that security is tight — it’s privately guarded with restricted access, and by its own police force and a marine patrol.
“It’s a perfect spot to build your dream home,” Reznik said. Reznik added that the sellers bought the land for $27.5 million in 2018.
“They were planning to build, but then plans changed and they decided to sell,” Reznik said, adding that the sellers are “private people” who are unwilling to reveal their identity.
“It’s more interesting to know that the land is next to Bezos than who the seller is,” Reznik said.
However, despite its steep price tag, the land doesn’t hold the record for the most costly listing. That distinction belongs to a $295 million (around Rs 2,500 crore) estate in Naples, Florida, which hit the market in early 2024.
