Meta-Snapchat rivalry at peak?

Meta is right now viewed in the world of tech as a fast follower of trends, and as soon as any rival company of theirs launches a feature that goes well with the users, they try to incorporate it in their own applications as well, says a Fortune report. The rivalry between the two stalwarts, Snapchat and Meta is well-documented and popular, with Snp’s features often being adapted by Meta at later times, according to reports.

Some features cloned by Meta

At one point, Meta even offered to acquire Snapchat with a multi-billion dollar offer, but Snapchat CEO Spiegel turned down the offer and wanted to keep things running all by himself. Among other reported features that may have been closed by Meta include Instagram’s direct messages and filters that distort a user’s face, which was initially brought to use by Snapchat before other social media applications.
