TV fans have been left ‘sick to their stomachs’ by a new game show that they claim ‘promotes the worst of human nature’.

Some viewers have compared new Prime Video series Beast Games to popular film franchise The Hunger Games.

Beast Games, which dropped on the Amazon streaming service on December 19, is presented by YouTuber Mr Beast AKA Jimmy Donaldson, who created the show. 

The new game show has already got a lot of people talking – but not necessarily for the right reasons.

It sees 1,000 contestants battle it out for the $5million prize fund in a number of different challenges, which have been likened to scenes on Netflix‘s Squid Games and The Hunger Games.    

Some are very unimpressed with what they have seen so far and have taken to social media to air their grievances. 

One wrote on X: ‘#BeastGames represents the worst of human nature, selfish, individualistic, push someone down so you can stand high, all directed by a guy who broke the system and now throws endless amounts of money around to push people to their limits. It’s Squid Game capitalism.’

Another said: ‘Beast Games is historically awful slop. Just disgraceful.’

‘I just watched Beast Games episode 1 & I literally feel sick to my stomach. There is something so evil about packaging this sadistic working class torture porn as entertainment,’ a third tweeted.

Despite some negative reviews, other viewers have liked what they’re watching.

One said: ‘Beast Games on Amazing Prime is a good show!’

‘Beast Games is insanely good,’ another confessed.

A third wrote: ‘Yoooo watched the first 2 episodes of #BeastGames last night @mrbeast INSANE dare I say better than Squid Games.’ 

The first two episodes of Beast Games were dropped on December 19. 

The next will be released on Boxing Day, followed by weekly instalments. 

Filming for the first round of the show was shot in July this year, followed by the second in August.

Beast Games’ official trailer was released on YouTube in December. 

It started with Mr Beast saying: ‘I am standing on five million dollars, the grand prize of the most insane competition show you’ve ever seen. 

‘And competing for it are these 1,000 contestants!’

One player can be seen saying to camera: ‘That has never been done on TV before!’ after a train crashes into a car on a railway track. 

In another scenes various contestants are clearly very emotional with tears running down their cheeks. 

‘My heart is broken into pieces right now,’ one says.

Mr Beast ends the trailer saying: ‘Which one of these players will make entertainment history and win five million dollars?’

The show’s host Mr Beast’s real name is James Stephen Jimmy Donaldson.

He boasts an incredible 338 million subscribers on YouTube.
