Voters pass Louisiana’s constitutional amendment on renewable energy funds

November 5, 2024

BATON ROUGE, La. – Statewide, voters said yes to a constitutional amendment that would put the state’s cut of federal revenues from renewable energy production into the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund. The vote was 72 percent to 28 percent.

The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority already receives oil and gas money from sources at the state and federal levels. The proposed amendment would add revenue from alternative energy sources.
