100 Pounds Of Marijuana, $50K Cash Seized In Suffolk Cannabis Raids: Police

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. — Seven people were arrested Thursday during coordinated raids at multiple cannabis businesses across the county, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the investigation, led by the department’s narcotics section with help from the asset forfeiture unit, several precinct investigative teams, and personnel from the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the New York State Office of Financial Services, and the Internal Revenue Service, targeted four Organically Connected stores accused of illegally selling cannabis products.

The businesses were located at 202 Main St. in Port Jefferson; 18 Railroad Ave. in Patchogue; 415 New York Ave. in Huntington; and 401 Hawkins Ave., Suite 4, in Ronkonkoma, police said.

Police said the raids followed numerous community complaints about illegal cannabis sales. Officers seized more than 100 pounds of cannabis, cannabis edibles and other products, hallucinogens, and over $50,000 in cash, police said.

All four shops were shut down, police said.

Suffolk County police said the following individuals were arrested:

  • Maxime Boucard, 43, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and working as a security guard without a license, police said.
  • Eleanor Dlouhy, 23, of Coram, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
  • Ivalisse Avila, 24, of Selden, was charged with the same controlled substance and weapon offenses as Dlouhy, police said.
  • Kalea Wetsell, 21, of Coram, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of cannabis, police said.
  • Curtis Thompson, 38, of Coram, was charged with working as a security guard without a license, police said.
  • Andres Santos, 43, of Huntington, was charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, false personation and working as a security guard without a license, police said.
  • Alexandra Akhalkatsi, 37, of the Bronx, was charged with criminal possession of cannabis, police said.

Police said several individuals were issued desk appearance tickets and released pending court dates in First District Court in Central Islip. Dlouhy and Avila were held overnight and scheduled for arraignment on Friday, police said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
