2 arrested after found selling cannabis at vape shop

HANOVER, Va. (WWBT) – Two men are behind bars after a months long investigation of illegal cannabis sales at vape shops.

The Hanover County Sheriff’s Department searched eight different locations on Nov. 20 within Hanover County, Richmond, and Chesterfield County.

Hanover Investigators conducted searches at the following businesses:

  • Clay’s Market in the 10300 block of Leadbetter Road in Hanover
  • Clay Express Mart in the 800 block of Clay Street in Richmond
  • Clay Market in the 1300 block of West Main Street in Richmond
  • Clay Mart Vapes in the 1200 block of West Broad Street in Richmond

Three homes in Richmond, and one in Chesterfield County were also searched:

  • 2800 block of Braidwood Road in Richmond
  • 2700 block of Grantwood Road in Richmond
  • 8300 block of Forest Hill Avenue in North Chesterfield

Another search was done at a storage facility located in Richmond:

  • 1300 block of W. Main Street, Richmond

The searches resulted in the seizure of cannabis and U.S. currency. Search warrants were also executed on five vehicles related to the investigation.

Mohammed Aramin, 33 of Richmond andIhab Aramin, 33 of North Chesterfield were both arrested for cannabis distribution.

Hohammed was also charged with distribution of cannabis within 1,000 feet of a school, with further charges pending.

Both suspects were transported to and served warrants at the Pamunkey Regional Jail.

This comes less than a month after Virginia State Police wrapped up “Operation Magic Dragon” targeting the illegal drug activity at vape store across the commonwealth.
