3 dead, 8 injured after gunman on boat fires into Cape Fear, North Carolina, restaurant, police say
PEYTON, WE ARE FOLLOWING SOME BREAKING NEWS OUT OF NORTH CAROLINA WHERE THREE PEOPLE ARE DEAD, EIGHT OTHERS INJURED AFTER A SHOOTING AT A RESTAURANT. POLICE SAY THIS WAS AROUND 930 LAST NIGHT IN SOUTHPORT, NORTH CAROLINA. THIS IS ABOUT 30, 45 MINUTES OUTSIDE OF WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA, AND BRUNSWICK COUNTY OFFICIALS SAY SOMEONE OPENED FIRE ON PATRONS AT A WATERFRONT BAR AND SEAFOOD RESTAURANT FROM THEIR BOAT. SIX PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES. WE DON’T KNOW IF THERE ARE TWO OTHER VICTIMS WHO REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT AT THIS POINT. NOW, THIS INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING. A person in a boat opened fire into a North Carolina restaurant, killing three people and injuring eight others, according to the Southport Police Department.This happened about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the American Fish Company along the Cape Fear River. The boat then fled the area, towards the Intracoastal Waterway in the direction of Oak Island.Shortly after 10 p.m., the U.S. Coast Guard saw the boat and detained the suspect. More updates are expected Sunday.
