7-year-old hospitalized after getting hit by Tesla while riding seated scooter

Troopers said a 45-year-old Riverview man was driving his Tesla Model 3 when he failed to see the boy on his Razor Crazy Cart Shuffle seated scooter.
LUTZ, Fla. — A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after getting hit by a Tesla while riding his seated Razor scooter Thursday night.
The crash happened at 8:15 p.m. on Cloudless Bliss Drive in Lutz.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 45-year-old Riverview man was driving his Tesla Model 3 when he failed to see the boy on his Razor Crazy Cart Shuffle seated scooter.

The boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers noted that the Tesla was not operating in autopilot mode during the crash and that the parents were nearby while the kids were playing.
Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
