DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Amazon’s newest robotic fulfillment center in Daytona Beach promises faster deliveries for Volusia County residents while bringing more than 1,000 jobs to the area.

The 630,000-square-foot facility can process up to 800,000 packages daily using hundreds of robots to assist with packaging and sorting operations. It marks Amazon’s seventh robotics fulfillment center in Florida, adding to the company’s network of 28 fulfillment and sortation centers across the state.

“Amazon is dedicated to building long-term career pathways for our team members, strengthening local communities, and boosting regional economic growth,” said Andrew Jaworski, general manager of the Daytona Beach fulfillment center.

The facility combines robotic efficiency with a human workforce. Jaworski explained that when products arrive at the warehouse, “We open up all these cases, and then we place the items into a conveyable tote going up into our robotics storage platform.”

The fulfillment process activates as soon as customers make purchases. “As soon as you hit Buy on Amazon.com, that order generates to the site here, and we have our first picker pick that item out, place it in a destination tote, which will then get routed to our pack department,” Jaworski said.

Items are then individually packaged according to their specific needs before being sorted onto carts and loaded into trailers for same-day delivery.

Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry emphasized the facility’s economic impact. “Amazon’s decision to choose Daytona Beach as a hub to serve the greater Southeast United States is a powerful testament to our community. It shows that we are a city ready to compete, a city with an exceptional quality of life and a city with a strong, willing workforce.”

The company marked the opening with a $20,000 donation to Futures Foundation for Volusia County School District, specifically for STEM teams in Title 1 schools for the 2025-2026 school year.

Keith Norden, president and CEO of Team Volusia EDC, noted the facility’s strategic importance. “With the Daytona Beach International Airport, the Daytona International Speedway, and now Amazon, we have collaborated with key partners in our region to create one of the most economically impactful 5-square-mile areas anywhere in Florida.”
