Oklahoma Legalizes Marijuana
As the latest step towards further legalization of marijuana, Oklahoma joins the nine (9) States of Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, Vermont and Washington — plus the District of Columbia to allow sales of recreational or medical marijuana. Another twenty one (21) states allow some form of medical marijuana and sixteen (16) states allow the use of a lesser medical marijuana extract. Recreational marijuana first became legal in the United States in 2012

Sixty Four Percent of US Population Support Legalization
In 1969 only 12% of the US population supported the legalization of marijuana. Fifteen years of polling has shown a drastic increase from that number to 64% in 2018, according to the latest Gallup pole. Democrats approval increased from 35% to 72%, while Republicans improved from 20% to 51% during the same period.

Universal Support
Medical marijuana, for its part, has nearly universal support in the United States, according to an August 2017 poll from Quinnipiac University. An overwhelming 94% of adults, including 96% of independents, 95% of Democrats and 90% of Republicans support it.

Federal Politics
Chuck Schumer is supporting decriminalizing marijuana use on the Federal level and relaxing Federal Pot politics have dramatically changed tax benefits for the States. Democrats believe that the question of pot legalization could turn into a litmus test for the mid-term elections and they expect that younger voters will boost voter turnout.

Market Size $6.6 Billion – Quadruple over next Decade
Legal pot has grown to a $6.6 billion industry, with seven in ten dollars going for medical marijuana and three in ten going for recreational marijuana, with the balance improving in favor of recreational use, as legalization accelerates. The overall industry has been projected to quadruple over the next decade, according to New Frontier Data, a research company that analyzes the marijuana industry.
