Environment Canada issues travel advisory for Hamilton as freeze expected to follow rain
March 5, 2025
After a day of rain prompted flood warnings, Environment Canada forecast freezing temperatures and issued a travel advisory for Hamilton, Niagara and much of southern Ontario.
Starting late Wednesday and continuing Thursday, “travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather,” Environment Canada said Wednesday afternoon.
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.”
The agency also warned of winds gusting up to 80 kilometres per hour and reduced visibility due to snow.
In Hamilton, snow is forecast to end late afternoon Thursday.
