Amazon warehouse fire sends employees home

MONROE, Ohio (WXIX) – A small fire is under investigation at the Amazon warehouse in Monroe, fire officials say.

Workers evacuated when some boxes caught on fire in at Amazon Fulfillment Center on Gateway Boulevard shortly before midnight, according to the Monroe Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the fire is now out but fire crews were on the scene for several hours early Monday.

The workers were sent home overnight until the building is cleaned and reopened, fire officials say.
