Prime Video Series With 89% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Gets Season 2 Renewal
March 18, 2025
There has been quite a resurgence in the genre of biblical stories in film and television. With streaming and the movie industry adapting to an evolving taste in storytelling, many studios are looking to particular genres that have been consistent hits with audiences. One area that has been pretty consistent has been biblical stories, whether it be Noah’s Ark or the origins of Jesus Christ. Some favorite biblical adaptations in film and television include Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, 1956’s The Ten Commandments, The Prince of Egypt, The Nativity Story, VeggieTales, and Darren Aronofsky’s Noah.
Adapting biblical stories to the small or big screen has proved an arduous endeavor, as the controversy surrounding the projects is usually inevitable. However, seeming inaccuracies aside, a few storytellers have been able to adapt certain stories and have found much success with the outcomes. For example, The Chosen has become a consistent hit on streaming, with the show already renewed for season 5. Now, Prime Video has joined the game, with their latest series getting an early renewal.

Although it received mixed reviews from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, there has been strong interest among audiences, leading to an 89% score. As a result, the biblical epic has been consistently charting on Prime Video, which is also home to Reacher and The Wheel of Time.

Our Take On House Of David’s Season 2 Renewal
The Biblical Character David Deserves Further Exploration
David has always been an interesting figure, even outside his famed battle with Goliath. While it’s unclear where House of David season 2 will go, especially since the series has explored details not in the Bible, there could be potential to further depict the intrigue and power struggles surrounding David’s rise to the throne. Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing Erwin and the House of David cast in approaching the next phase of the story, especially if they continue to take liberties in the biblical arcs.
House of David is available to stream on Prime Video.
