Investment strategist explains on current stock market decline

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – With this week’s decline in the stock market, some people are worried about how this will impact their personal finances.

Market fluctuations happen everyday within the stock market, but there can be substantial dips due to many factors.

These factors can scare people into making haste decisions with their money or investments.

This includes selling stocks quickly, buying when the market is low, or cashing out their 401(k) over fears of not regaining the funds put in.

Jeff Krumpelman, chief investment strategist at Mariner Wealth Advisor, explains how investors should be patient and wait for the market to level out, as it has in the past.

“Normally the market corrects and this is a key statistic, normally the market corrects 14% every year and yet generates positive return in most of those years,” said Krumpelman.

Krumpelman adds that investing in alternative options such as bonds, as they hold up very well during low market time frames including recessions, and precious metals like gold or silver.

For young couples looking to invest into a 401(k) or into stocks, Krumpelman says they should invest no matter what the market is doing, because you have to have a base and that base will grow eventually.
