Chelsea took care of business in the first leg of this UEFA Conference League quarterfinal last week, winning 3-0 away and essentially making this second leg a bit of a formality.
But the disappointing result over the weekend, our second successive draw in the league, and Enzo Maresca’s subsequent comments calling out the negative “environment” at the Bridge have created a bit of an unpredictable vibe heading into this one. Will the fans turn on the manager and his tactics even more? Things could get dramatic if Legia were to score first…
To ensure that doesn’t happen, we have the same complement of players available as for the last two games. We have seen plenty of rotation from Maresca in those games to try to keep legs fresh ahead of the daunting path now facing us for Champions League qualification for next season — even with the top-five all going — starting with Sunday’s trip down the road Fulham.
But first things first.
Choose wisely!
