Earth Month highlights ways to make N.Y.’s environment better

April 27, 2025

This weekend on In Focus, we’re spotlighting Earth Month and efforts to make New York’s environment better.

JoDee Kenney sat down with state Sen. Pat Fahy. She says we have to keep the pressure on federal officials to make sure states get the funding they need to combat weather related disasters and prevention.

Amanda Powers, director of communications for the New York Farm Bureau, also joined the show to talk about how farmers preserve the land for the next generation.

JoDee also sat down with Dr. Joshua Drew, assistant professor for SUNY ESF.  They spoke about the importance of celebrating Earth Month. Drew says it’s a great way celebrate and share success stories. It’s a way to learn what works and what doesn’t.

You can watch the full interviews above. And be sure to tune in for a look inside the biggest issues impacting upstate New York on In Focus with JoDee Kenney — every Sunday on Spectrum News 1.
