Northway stop yields over 100 pounds of cannabis and fentanyl pills

Saratoga County (WRGB) — A New York man arrested following a traffic stop Friday, when over 120 pounds of marijuana was discovered, according to police.

At 1:50 p.m. on May 2, State Police stopped a Vehicle on I-87 in Malta for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as William M. Buckshot, 58 of Hogansburg, NY. According to police, during the stop officers discovered more than 120 pounds of Cannabis and more than a pound of unidentified pills within his vehicle. The pills reportedly field-tested positive for fentanyl.

Buckshot was charged with first-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, first-degree Criminal Possession of Cannabis and Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

Buckshot was arraigned at the Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
