May 6, 2025

One person was stabbed at an Amazon warehouse in Central New York, according to multiple reports.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. Sunday at the online retail giant’s facility in Frankfort, Herkimer County, according to the Rome Sentinel. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and were listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made. The suspect is still at large, according to WKTV.

The Frankfort Police Department said an investigation is ongoing, but has not released the suspect’s name. It is believed both the suspect and victim, identified only as a male, may both be employees of the Amazon distribution facility.

“There are steps and procedures that have to be followed. You know, we have to have a victim. We have a victim, but we have to have a complaint from the victim,” Frankfort Police Chief Matthew Palumbo told WKTV on Monday afternoon. “We’re obtaining all the information, all the evidence we need in order to file charges and work with the District Attorney’s Office and made an arrest.”

Amazon confirmed the stabbing incident occurred, but has not provided other details.

“We’re saddened by this senseless act of violence and are focused on providing support for our employees at this time,” Amazon spokesperson Sharyn Ghacham said in a statement. “We’ll defer to the Frankfort Police Department for additional information and continue to assist them with their investigation.”

The Frankfort facility opened in 2022.
