EXCLUSIVE: Amazon has picked up AGC Studios‘ Kaley Cuoco-starring thriller series Vanished for several territories.

Vanished, which stars Sam Claflin (Peaky Blinders), three-time Cesar winner Karin Viard (The Bélier Family), German actor Matthias Schweighöfer (Army of the Dead), Simon Abkarian (Casino Royale) and Dar Zuzovsky (Corduroy), will air on Prime Video next year in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Stuart Ford’s AGC is selling worldwide rights and cameras are rolling in Paris and Marseille. Barnaby Thompson directs.

Deadline first told you about the project at Series Mania in March, at which point AGC launched sales. In Vanished, Big Bang Theory star Cuoco plays Alice. When a romantic getaway to Paris takes a dark turn with the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) aboard a train to France, she is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering secrets about the man she thought she knew.

Vanished is from AGC Studios, created by David Hilton and Preston Thompson, written by Preston Thompson (Pixie, Kids in Love) and executive produced by James Clayton (Slow Burn Entertainment), David Kosse (Rockwood Pictures), Barnaby Thompson (Fragile Films), Preston Thompson, Cuoco and AGC’s Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz and Miguel A. Palos Jr. AGC’s VP of Legal & Business Affairs Conor McElroy negotiated the deal on behalf of AGC.

Vanished is the latest hot drama series Amazon has pre-bought. The streamer has taken rights in several European territories on Catherine Zeta-Jones-starrer Kill Jackie and has U.S. plus others on Justin Kurzel’s The Narrow Road to the Deep North adaptation starring Jacob Elordi. Those two are sold by Fremantle and Sony respectively.

Speaking at MIP London in Feb, Amazon UK exec Hannah Blyth said deals like Kill Jackie are examples of how Amazon is adapting to the current financial market. She said Amazon may not have global on these titles but will still be involved editorially and in financing conversations from an early stage in order to get projects over the line.
