The state has shut down what it claims to be an illegal cannabis operation in Monroe County.

We learned this week that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Henrietta executed a search warrant on May 2nd at Mad Flavors Smoke Shop, located at 2761 E. Henrietta Road, Henrietta, following a comprehensive investigation. Several individuals were arrested by the Sheriff’s Office in connection with the operation.

The operation led to the seizure of significant quantities of illegal cannabis products and cash by the Sheriff’s Office, including:

• 27 pounds of cannabis flower
• 2 pounds of pre-rolled cannabis joints
• 820 THC edible packages, 531 cannabis concentrates
• 650 THC vape products
• $44,041 in cash

“Enforcement actions like these highlight the vital importance of strong partnerships between state and local law enforcement agencies. These partnerships protect not only the integrity of New York’s regulated cannabis market, but also the health, safety, and well-being of our communities,” said Felicia A.B. Reid, Acting Executive Director of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. “OCM remains unwavering in our commitment to rooting out illicit operations that endanger public safety, undermine our dedicated legal operators, and erode public trust in the emerging cannabis industry.”

“Our collaboration with dedicated partners like the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Henrietta demonstrates our shared commitment to upholding the law within New York’s
cannabis market,” said Daniel Haughney, Director of Enforcement and Investigations for the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. “We’re grateful for their cooperation to shut down these illegal stores and in removing potentially dangerous products from our communities, ensuring the safety and well-being of New Yorkers, and protecting the integrity of our regulated marketplace.”
