Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his longtime girlfriend Lauren Sanchez are expected to walk down the aisle next month. Fans already expect a new level of extravagance from the billionaire, but the unusual venue they’ve picked is still raising some eyebrows.

With performances from Elton John and Lady Gaga reportedly on the horizon, the pair is expected to tie the knot on a Venetian island in an open-air theater. A source revealed to The US Sun, “The word is that they have booked the theater which has been restored.”  

“It’s not your usual venue for a wedding, it would be iconic,” the insider added. “Everyone is talking about the wedding and it’s going to be a huge celebration.”

Though the outlet said it chose not to identify the venue, they checked and could confirm dates had been blocked out for two weeks around the time the wedding was set to take place, which is supposed to be between June 24 and 26. The billionaire and his bride, along with upwards of 200 guests, have reportedly already booked rooms at the best hotels in the area.

A spokesperson for the mayor’s office told CNN that he believed the ceremony could take place on Bezos’s yacht, which will be anchored in the lagoon. The massive vessel is where the couple celebrated their engagement off the coast of Positano in 2023.  

Guests for the extravagant festivities are expected to include several members of the Kardashian/Jenner family, Orlando Bloom and fiancée Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Karlee Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner. President Donald Trump has also reportedly been invited, though it’s unclear if he will attend. 

Officials from the city of Venice have said they lobbied Bezos and Sanchez to hold the wedding there. Morris Ceron–the director general of the Venice council–revealed to the London Times he personally approached the Amazon founder about choosing the ancient city for their wedding. 

“I got to work to bring this marriage of the century to Venice—that’s how it started,” he told the publication.
