Rocky Balboa might be gone, but his legacy lives on.

At Amazon’s annual upfront presentation on Monday, Michael B. Jordan announced that Prime Video has ordered to series Delphi, the first live-action series of the Creed sports drama franchise, which focuses on Jordan as boxer Adonis “Donnie” Creed, which is itself a sub-franchise of Sylvester Stallone‘s Rocky.

Delphi focuses on young boxers at the Delphi gym, where Apollo (Carl Weathers) and Adonis Creed trained. Specific plot details are being kept under wraps. Marco Ramirez, a current Tony nominee for his book for Buena Vista Social Club, will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Jordan and Liz Raposo producing via their Outlier Society production company, along with Winkler Films’ Irwin Winkler, David Winkler, and Charles Winkler. Ramirez also created Hulu’s boxing limited series La Máquina starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.

There have been a number of Creed/Rocky series in development over the past few years, including a Creed anime series, a series focused on Adonis’ daughter Amara Creed, and a Rocky prequel series, but Delphi is the first one to get a series order.

The Creed movies reinvigorated the Rocky franchise, starting with director Ryan Coogler‘s Creed in 2015. It was followed by Creed II in 2018 and Creed III in 2023, the latter serving as Jordan’s directorial debut. The Creed trilogy has grossed more than $660 million worldwide.
