According to Variety, during Monday’s upfronts for Amazon, it was announced that former WWE Champion The Miz will host an “American Gladiators” reboot.

Per Amazon, this latest reboot features an “all star cast of gladiators for the modern era” and this reboot will utilize new challenges while reprising some from the original series, including “Gauntlet,” “Hang Tough” and “The Eliminator.” The cast for this latest version of the series includes bodybuilders, former D1 athletes, crossfit champions and fitness trainers from throughout the world.

Amazon Prime Video recently launched a free ad-supported television (FAST) channel for “American Gladiators” which airs the original version of the series. This latest reboot now comes after several international versions, including one that aired last year on BBC.

The original “American Gladiators” aired from 1989 to 1996 in syndication, with a reboot that aired for only two season on NBC in 2008 with WWE Hall Famer Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali as co-hosts.
