Iliad Group Secures Renewable Energy with New European Power Deals

May 14, 2025

The Iliad Group has announced the signing of four new power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy across its three operating geographies in Europe, doubling its number of green energy projects to eight since 2023. The new contracts include two sites in France, one in Poland, and one in Italy. These long-term agreements – spanning 10 to 15 years – secure low-carbon energy at stable and attractive prices, offering the Group visibility and control over energy costs amid ongoing market volatility.

As part of its 2021 Climate Plan, iliad has made the energy transition a strategic priority. These PPAs support the development of new low-carbon energy production capacities in each of the countries where the Group operates. In France, iliad has signed its first wind energy project, complementing existing solar contracts and improving its management of intermittent energy production. By 2027, PPAs will cover 16% of the Group’s energy needs in France.

In Italy and Poland—its most carbon-intensive markets—the Group is expanding its efforts to support local decarbonization and diversify its energy sources. PPAs signed in 2024 will cover 21% of iliad’s energy usage in Italy and 13% in Poland by 2026. The Group aims to raise this to 50% in both countries by 2035. Iliad’s approach includes strict selection criteria, such as additionality and environmental responsibility. All eight PPAs are certified by the EKOenergy label, which ensures electricity is produced sustainably and with minimal biodiversity and community impact.

A European group like the iliad Group must consider its energy supplies on a European scale, with the same guiding principle: priority everywhere for low-carbon energy and securing our long-term supplies! With these four new projects, we are crossing a threshold, doubling the number of PPAs. The iliad Group is demonstrating here that the telecoms sector knows how to think about its development in a sustainable and responsible manner, that it knows how to combine technological progress with respect for the environment. Thank you to all the partners who support us in France, Italy, and Poland for these major projects
