Watch: ‘Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans Shares Why Son Jace Moved Away to Live With His Dad
When it comes to her next career move, Jenelle Evans is feeling pretty fired up.
“I’m looking to start a cannabis line still,” the MTV alum revealed in an exclusive interview with E! News. It’s a path she’s admittedly been looking to blaze for some time now, even discussing the possibility during a 2024 appearance on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. “I know a lot of my fans are asking about that,” she continued. “It’s still happening. I’ve been very busy and I’m just trying to get everything set up and organized. But I’m hoping sometime this fall.”
It’s not a shock to Teen Mom viewers that the mom to 15-year-old Jace (with former boyfriend Andrew Lewis), 10-year-old Kaiser (with onetime fiancé Nathan Griffith) and 8-year-old Ensley, her daughter with estranged husband David Eason, enjoys getting—in the voice of her mom Barbara Evans—high! High!
“It’s no secret that I smoke,” acknowledged the North Carolina native. “I mean everybody knows.” And if you’ll allow her to be, uh, blunt, she doesn’t think it’s a big effing deal.
“I think it’s very important for me to normalize it for other mothers, because a lot of people are looked down upon because they smoke,” explained Janelle, who relocated to Las Vegas, where marijuana is legal in limited quantities, following her separation from David. “And I feel like it’s like a glass of wine at the end of the night.”

So regardless of what any of her haters might think, she’s ready to toast to a fresh start.
Having waited out the mandatory yearlong separation from David, the man she wed on their North Carolina property in 2017, “I filed for absolute divorce,” Jenelle told E! News. “And that actually should be going into effect either this week or next week.”
Just in time for her to say yes to a little celebration.
“I’ve been just focusing on myself and my kids and trying to put this all behind me,” the 33-year-old said of her increasingly messy split from David, which saw her call out his emotional abuse on a June 2024 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter and even request a six-month domestic violence protective order.
So now she’s going to the strip club and she’s going to get a bit wild by celebrating her divorce with a bash at New York City gentleman’s club Spearmint Rhino on June 12 at 10 p.m. Noted Jenelle, “I’m like, what better way to announce it?”
As for what’s been happening in Vegas, “I’m also working on, instead of in front of the camera, behind the scenes, working on different TV projects that I have lined up,” Jenelle revealed. But mostly she’s been enjoying having the chance to roll the dice on a new future.
For the longest time, despite the toxicity of her union to David, “I was just so nervous, like, ‘Can I do this on my own? Can I take care of these three kids by myself? Will they listen to me without a male figure around?'” Jenelle acknowledged of what held her back from ending their marriage.
But more than a year after announcing her separation from David, she’s come to enjoy having full legal and physical custody of Ensley.
While she and David are still due in custody court to figure out the particulars, “I’m actually parenting by myself with no one else’s opinion,” she noted. “And it feels great.”
Though she was initially intimidated by the idea of solo parenting, “I feel like the mother’s decision is the best decision,” said Jenelle. “Mothers know what’s best for their children, in their best interest, and I just feel like I’m very happy that the ball is in my court right now, because it’s a very imperative time for her to just find safety and stability. And I just want that to continue for her.”
So far, holding all the cards has been nice for Jenelle.
“I wasted so much time trying to fix that relationship, that I could have done a lot more with my life and my time,” the reality star admitted. And while she’s glad she can say she really tried to save the union, “It felt really good to finally sever that relationship,” summed up Jenelle. “I did everything that I could. But ultimately, everybody was butting heads with David.”
At the lowest point, she continued, with the constant arguing, “It was just bad energy. So, I was just finally ready to give that all up. And now everything’s been very peaceful, calm. Everyone’s anxiety has been down.”
Her spirits, however, are decidedly high.
“I’m moving on to a new chapter in my life and moving on from negative energy,” said Jenelle, “and just trying to be myself, find myself again.”
And while she’s on the hunt for the new Jenelle Evans, some of her former costars have already identified their person. See which Teen Mom stars have hit the jackpot in the love department.
