Recently, Instagram accounts have been suspended one after another in the global world, including Korea, causing complaints from users, and the same problem is now occurring on Facebook.

According to TechCrunch and others on the 25th, thousands of Facebook groups opened in the United States and other countries have been mass-suspended. Facebook Group is a community page within Facebook where people with the same interests or acquaintances can gather, such as Naver and Daum Cafe.

According to users of the group whose accounts were suspended, the group received ambiguous notices of violations from Facebook, such as “terrorism-related” content or naked exposure, even though it only deals with harmless content such as savings tips, discount events, childcare, pets, and games.

Groups with up to millions of users were also reportedly included in the measure.

Currently, cases such as “a Pokémon-related group with 200,000 members received a violation notice in the name of a ‘dangerous group'” are being posted on the overseas Internet community Reddit.

Currently, users are filing an online petition asking Facebook operator Meta to resolve the issue. Some companies claiming to have been damaged are also pursuing legal action.

In response, Andy Stone, a spokesman for Facebook operator Meta, told TechCrunch, “We are aware of technical errors that have affected some Facebook groups and are currently fixing the issue.”
