If you’re an Amazon Prime member, be aware that you may be losing a key perk.

The online retailer is sunsetting the Prime Invitee Program, which gives Prime members permission to share Prime delivery benefits with people outside their household, according to Amazon’s customer service page.

The changes come as Prime Day sign-ups in the U.S. fell short of goal and declined from the previous year, according to Reuters.

This membership update comes as the company is also dealing with fallout from a lawsuit over claims that it allegedly tricked consumers into signing up for Prime and making it hard to cancel their subscriptions.

Here’s the rundown of when the Prime Invitee Program will end .

When is Amazon shutting down the Prime Invitee Program?

The Prime Invitee Program will end Oct. 1, and all invitees will lose access to Amazon Prime Delivery.

Amazon has had this program in place for 16 years.

This means that to take advantage of fast, free delivery, these shoppers will have to create their own Prime accounts or ask the primary account holder to add them to Amazon’s new benefit-sharing program.

Memberships cost $15 a month or $139 per year and come with these delivery perks as well as several other perks, including exclusive discounts, free Prime Video, Amazon Music and Prime Gaming, and fast two-hour Amazon Fresh deliveries.

What program will Amazon members use instead of Prime Invitee?

Amazon is replacing the Prime Invitee Program with the Amazon Family Program.

Members can share their Prime benefits with up to one adult in the household, up to four teenagers and up to four profiles for children.

The select benefits members are able to share with Amazon Family members include:

  • fast and free delivery on Prime eligible items
  • exclusive Prime events and deals
  • Prime Video (with ads)
  • Prime Reading
  • third-party benefits (for example, Grubhub)
  • digital content, such as audio books, eBooks and games
  • Amazon Music ad-free with one other adult in their Amazon Family

How do I add people to my Amazon Family?

You can add an adult by either sending them an emailed invitation or signing up together, according to Amazon’s help section.

it’s important to note that each adult needs their own Amazon account to take part in this benefit.

Once that is established, go to Amazon Family.

Under the “New” section, click “Add a new member,” and then select “Add Adult.”

You can add an adult to your Amazon Family account one of two ways:

  1. You can enter the name and email address of the invitee and select “Continue.” Then, that person has 14 days to accept the invite.
  2. Or, you can select “Sign up together on this device” and follow the instructions from there.

To add a child to an Amazon Family, you can go to the Amazon Family page, select “New – Add a new member,” select “Add a child.” Fill in the child’s details, and select “Create.”
