Prime’s Friday gas hack: Save 25 cents a gallon at BP and Amoco
October 24, 2025
Bezos is busting into the gas business.
For Amazon Prime members, Fridays were no longer just the end of a long workweek or the start of a weekend list of to-dos. Thanks to the retail juggernaut, some drivers can receive a prime deal when they fill up their tanks.
When the discount runs
Amazon Prime members can receive an exclusive 25-cent-per-gallon gas bonus every Friday through the end of the year.
This under-the-radar discount is built on an existing benefit, among the many Prime benefits listed when you sign up for Prime. Prime members already received a 10-cent-per-gallon discount through a partnership with the gas station loyalty program, earnify, but this TGI-Friday deal added an extra 15 cents to the savings.
Locations
Available at participating BP, Amoco and AM/PM stations across the country, the Amazon gas discount applies to all fuel grades and all participating stations, which take the total number of Amazon Prime gas discount locations to about 7,500 nationwide.
Amazon’s 10-cent-per-gallon discount already saves users an estimated $70 annually, so this extra Friday bonus boosts savings during what is expected to be a tight holiday time for family budgets.
Filling a 15-gallon tank each Friday earns $3.75, totaling nearly $40 over 10 weeks. This all-but-secret Prime benefit helps offset holiday costs amid tariffs and economic uncertainty.
Every bit counts, right?
How it works
It was a simple act: Amazon Prime members drive up to the pump, enter a phone number or scan through the earnify app and claim your victory as the price per gallon drops. The offer can only be used once each Friday.
For some, it was just a few bucks.
For others — road-trippers, commuters, parents with packed schedules — it’s become a real savings moment that’s added up over time.
The 25-cent savings applied to one fuel purchase per Friday, with no minimum or maximum gallon requirement.
After Dec. 26, the extra Friday fuel fix will expire, but the regular 10-cent discount will remain for all eligible Prime members.
Now, Amazon’s holiday promotion strategically targets the busiest travel day of the week, Friday, encouraging customers to fill up at BP or Amoco by offering bonus savings that fit into their regular weekend routines.
How to redeem
To claim the offer, Prime members first need to link their Amazon accounts to BP’s loyalty platform, earnify.
Once the accounts are linked, members can either enter their phone number at the pump or scan through the earnify app to activate the discount.
Linking accounts also means sharing data between Amazon and BP, which some users may see as a trade-off, savings in exchange for a little more insight into shopping habits.
Who’s eligible
The discount is only available to Amazon Prime members.
What may seem like a modest offer — 25 cents off per gallon — actually tells a larger story about where consumer membership programs are heading.
Amazon wants to be there when you order groceries, when you stream your favorite video and now, even when you fill ‘er up.
