Decatur program offers electrification, clean energy options
October 26, 2025
DECATUR, Ga. – The city of Decatur is launching a new program to help homeowners with energy efficiency and electrify their homes. The program, called Electrify Decatur, kicked off Sunday, Oct. 26.
According to a news release, “electrification is a way to transition from gas, heating oil, or outdated appliances and equipment to high-efficiency electrified alternatives. The Electrify Decatur program will feature a free new online marketplace — LetsGoElectric.com — in which Decatur-based and nearby contractors showcase innovative heat pump technologies and energy-efficiency products and systems as well as electrical upgrades for purchase and installation in local homes.”
The city is holding a launch event on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Decatur Conference Center at Marriott Courtyard, 130 Clairemont Ave. According to a news release the event will feature remarks from Decatur Mayor Patti Garrett, an overview of the program, and opportunities to talk with local contractors.
City residents can take a pledge now to get a head start on the program and receive the latest updates on the availability of Electrify Decatur’s features.
