Child hospitalized after eating cannabis edible, suspect arrested for child endangerment

SAN ANTONIO – A 1-year-old girl is in stable condition after ingesting a cannabis edible early Thursday morning, according to San Antonio police.
Officers responded to a welfare check at the 300 block of N Santa Rosa after the child was brought to a local hospital.
Authorities reported that the child had somehow obtained and consumed the edible, though it remains unclear how it came into her possession.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Jacob Carranza, has been booked on charges of injury to a child, as well as abandoning/endangering a Child. Medical personnel are currently monitoring the child’s condition.
