The last installment in the “Grand Theft Auto” Series came in 2013. Barack Obama was the U.S. president and the words “selfie” and “twerk” were just added to the dictionary. By the time the next installment arrives, Bitcoin could be trading at $1 million and Jesus Christ may have returned, according to some cryptocurrency bettors.

Bettors have poured over $7.6 million into a prediction market on blockchain-based betting platform Polymarket, asking “What will happen before GTA VI?” with outcomes that appear to grow progressively sillier.

Don’t Miss:

As of Nov. 7, bettors see a 46% chance Christ returns and a 47% chance Bitcoin reaches $1 million before the long-awaited game launches. Other things some bettors see happening before the game release include a new Rihanna album, President Donald Trump getting the boot and Russia and Ukraine reaching a ceasefire.

The market is scheduled to close at the end of July.

The prediction market has garnered attention after video game publisher Rockstar Games announced that it was again pushing back the release date of GTA VI.

“Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026,” Rockstar Games said last week on X. “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.”

The game was initially scheduled to launch in the fall of this year, before being pushed back to May 2026 and now to November.

Cryptocurrency bettors are not the only ones trolling Rockstar Games following the most recent delay.

Responding to Rockstar Games’ statement, Guinness World Records shared that the current record for longest development for a video game is 14 years and 43 days. Domino’s Pizza UK said, “call us if you need help delivering.” KFC posted a screenshot from GTA San Andreas with the caption “Ah, s—t, here we go again.”
