Cannabis retailer Hi! People held a grand opening for its new Hartford market Saturday.

The store, at 306 Market St., is just off both I-91 and I-85 in downtown Hartford and close to Dunkin’ Park. It’s Hi! People’s second location after Derby, which opened in January of this year.

The company says it will be opening a New Haven retail store soon.

“We’re very excited to be here in the capital,” said CEO David Salinas. “We’re very proud of this store, it’s been a labor of love.”

Co-owner Janice Flemming Butler is a Hartford native.

“Many of you who know me from my past, know that I have a past in this industry that wasn’t legal, and now here we are,” she said. “We’ve gotten this far by putting together a team of folks from Connecticut, who love Connecticut, who love Hartford, and that’s what we’re all about.”

Hi! People offers online ordering with either in-store pickup or home and office delivery.
In addition to its cannabis products, the company has also recently launched a line of hemp-infused fruit seltzer beverages.
