Amazon makes major change to delivery schedule

December 7, 2025

Amazon has announced it is testing a rapid delivery system in parts of Seattle and Philadelphia that can deliver essentials and groceries within 30 minutes or less.

According to the company, Amazon Now is part of the Amazon shopping app and website for customers in eligible areas.

Prime members get discounted delivery fees, starting at just $3.99 per order, in comparison to $13.99 for non-Prime customers.

A small order fee of $1.99 will apply to orders below $15.

Customers can shop for items including milk, eggs, produce, toothpaste, cosmetics, pet treats, diapers, paper products, electronics, seasonal items, over-the-counter medicines, chips, dips and more.

To fulfill the orders, Amazon is using special smaller facilities for order fulfillment in areas close to customers in those two cities. This reduces the delivery distance and enables faster delivery times.

Customers in the Seattle and Philadelphia areas can check the Amazon app and homepage and look for the “30-Minute Delivery” option in the navigation bar to learn if they have the service in their area.

Customers can track their orders and have the option to tip drivers.

Prime members have delivery options including same-day and overnight delivery – free once the shipping threshold is met – as well as next-day delivery.
