Alceon says ‘aggressive’ Temu and Amazon killed Cheap as Chips

Alceon, the alternative investment manager that controlled discount retailer Cheap as Chips, raised the alarm about the company’s deteriorating finances more than four months before it ultimately fell into administration.

WLP Restructuring were appointed to run Cheap as Chips days before New Year’s Eve and to oversee the sale of 44 of the retailer’s 47 outlets to a rival, Queensland-headquartered Choice The Discount Store.
